In 1984, the cheerful Rainer Eymann took over the winery from his father. He immediately shifted the whole production process from conventional to organic, striving for a better interaction between man and the nature.  In the 1980’s, organic winegrowing was an avant-garde undertaking. Rainer’s colleagues did not take him seriously at that time, but he never changed his mind. When his children were born, he went even further  a Demeter-certified bio-dynamic estate. The new generation, with his son Vincent who actively works at the winery, stands for the same vision: winemaking as an integrated procedure.

Eymann’s vines grow in the “Gönnheimer Sonnenberg” and the “Mandelgarten” – two vineyards right in the neighborhood of Deidesheim and Forst. The white wines are fermented spontaneously in the traditional old Doppelstück barrels (2,400 liters), while the red wines ferment on their skins before they are put in French barriques. Exceptional specialties of the estate are the sparkling wines, which are all produced following the same restrictions as in the Champagne region.

“Biodynamics enable us to realize our visions and create independent and authentic wines. When our children were born, we realized the importance of creating a healthy environment for future generations.”
